An intimate conversation with the members of the Eybler Quartet and Suzannah Clark, Professor of Music at Harvard University, reveals essentials such as harmony, phrase structure and the social significance of Haydn’s Op. 54 no. 3. With this context, you’ll hear the music as the cognoscenti from an 18th-century audience would! Program will also include Franz Asplmayr’s String Quartet op. 2 no. 6 in E flat major and Cris Derksen’s White Man’s Cattle a piece commissioned for the Eybler Quartet by the Banff Centre for the Arts in 2017.
